WILD APPLES “Surely the apple is the noblest of fruits”
Art Inspiration
My colleague Augustus and I are working on an animation series for the “Five Senses.” We think with my illustration and graphics mixed with his genius in science and talent in video and voice, we’ll have a nice collaborative piece to show. The first sense we’re addressing is sight — “The Apple of My Eye” — hence this post is a visual study for apples The next post will focus on the eye (pun intended!). To see the results for this collaborative project, stay tuned!
Facts and Info: The Apple Drawing
The first apple on the left shows an “outline” of how the green apple to the right is constructed with vector lines and objects. (The red apple is essentially the same outline as the green apple but with different coloration and no water dews.) The last apple shows the outline of how the graphic-like apple is constructed with fewer lines and objects.
As a side note: Creating images in Photoshop are great but are not easily scalable or editable when it comes to details. If you have a project that requires the creation of images or graphics, consider doing it in Illustrator first… the results are fantastic! And too, if you are doing animations in Flash, for example, it is always better to work with the vector vs. the pixel.
